west-wind.com — One of the things that bugs me no end in Sql Server Management Studio is that the table designer's UI is a pain to use. Entering column properties is an excercise in mousercise. It turns out there's an easier way to do this with custom views in the DataBase Diagram Designer.

Extremely true story, Rick. I would consider two of my developer friends SQL Server "experts", and they mock me fiercely when I talk about using the diagram designer. They always want to know how I could possibly get by without typing the DML into scripts myself. I guess because I'm not a masochist? I love the diagram designer, and I'm not afraid to admit it (anymore)!! ;)

I've done some experimenting with SQLCE (Compact Edition) and the Microsoft GUI is horrible. SQL Server Management Studio is much nicer but SQLCE 3.0 isn't supported there. I am always looking for better ways to look at the information, and this looks better than many.
