entityspaces.net — I have always built architectures on top of ADO.NET DataTables, they're fast (yes), flexible, and the power it provides is really pretty good. Additionally, as new features are added to ADO.NET they can then be easily absorbed. We were able to add LINQ to SQL to EntitySpaces by simply turning a LINQ query into an ADO.NET DataTable. Once we exchange the LINQ query for an ADO.NET DataTable the EntitySpaces architecture functions as normal since its underlying data structure is a DataTable. Pretty sweet. Here's a nice little trick in case you are not aware of it.

Thats a lot more complicated and I would argue less abstracted than LINQ to SQL. The information in the last week about the two teams working on (LINQ to SQL and EntitySpace and LINQ to SQL) is pretty disappointing. They should keep both around...my predicion is that LINQ to SQL is simpler to use and perfect for simple CUD stuff. Entity Spaces is going to be a clunky mess and everyone will continue to go to Nhibernate (already there were 3 articles on dotnetkicks how Entity Spaces is being screwed up).

? What, you must have EntitySpaces mixed up with something else? I think you missed the whole point of this post, there is no EntitySpaces code in this post and EntitySpaces is hardly being screwed up, I added support for LINQ to it in 20 minutes, it was nothing, could you please post the articles, that's pretty lame I think making such a statement.

Again, I'm shocked at your comment, it just proves you do not know what you're talking about, that is not EntitySpaces code, that's pure ADO.NET and LINQ, I was just sharing with the community how to turn a LINQ query into a DataTable, I'm sorry, but you're comment is just rotten eggs. Let's see these three posts?

@rev4bart, that was pretty unhelpful comment. If you can't elaborate on specific areas that confuse you, don't comment.

@Mike, the pliability of ES to different forms of coding is remarkable.

I have a feeling that rev4bart is thinking of the Entity Framework, but even then his comment is a bit nonsensical.

rev4bart,

You have clearly confused EntitySpaces with Microsoft's Entity Framework. Microsoft may have had different teams working on Linq to Sql and EF, and they have definitely been bashed a lot recently on DotNetKicks. My search of DotNetKicks for "entityspaces" did not turn up one negative article.

MIke don't you feel a little... I dunno... silly kicking your own posts? I always wonder about that when people kick their own stuff. But in your case you're trying to sell something and I know Gavin's chased you for it in the past.

I have to say, the weird pictures on your blog posed like me, kicking your own stuff - you kind of come across as Ari in Entourage. Maybe I'm wrong - hope I am. It's to the point where anything EntitySpaces-related just seems like a publicity push

@robconery:
I think it is fine if people submit their own posts here, as long as the content has some value.
I have found many valuable postings and blogs from people who have submitted their own posts here. If the content is not worth sharing or returning to, I just won't kick it.

What I don't like is when some people abuse this community and make items published with zombie accounts or some other networks. They rarely kick or submit anything but their own stories and often have some blog filled with advertisements etc.

(ps. this was just a general reply about kicking own posts here, I don't have any strong opinion about EF, ES or the poster of this story ;)

Well, this post was not really about ES, I was just showing how to turn a LINQ query into DataTable, it's pure .NET code and there is no EntitySpaces code at all in the post. I thought it was pretty cool that you could do this and just wanted to share it. And the picture was meant to be funny.

@rob, dude what does half of that have to do with Mike's post here? People kick their own stuff all the time, it's the new weblog ping. I thought with your LOLcode endeavors and speech style on your site you had a really strong sense of humor. Apparently, Mike thought so, too, or he probably wouldn't have goofed off in the way he did... not to speak for him or anything, but, man, I had a lot of admiration for you but you're acting paranoid and obnoxiously critical and rude.

oops .. nothing ruder than calling out someone's rudeness, sorry..
