Building persistent identity,secure authentication module in ASP.NET

Most modern sites like amazon allow users to stay logged in for long periods of time as well as having a separate secure session when checking out or accessing account pages. We'll take a look at one way how this is possible in asp.net, creating a custom authentication module that handles identity and authentication separately.
