sqlteam.com — "As we all know SQL Server 2005 Express is a very powerful free edition of SQL Server 2005. However it does not contain SQL Server Agent service. Because of this scheduling jobs is not possible. So if we want to do this we have to install a free or commercial 3rd party product. This usually isn't allowed due to the security policies of many hosting companies and thus presents a problem. Maybe we want to schedule daily backups, database reindexing, statistics updating, etc. This is why I wanted to have a solution based only on SQL Server 2005 Express and not dependent on the hosting company. And of course there is one based on our old friend the Service Broker."

quickstarts.asp.net — "ASP.NET routing enables you to use URLs that do not have to map to specific files in a Web site. Because the URL does not have to map to a file, you can use URLs in a Web application that are descriptive of the user's action and therefore more easily understood by users." read more...

blogs.microsoft.co.il — Not a log time ago, when Visual Studio 2008 SP1 Beta was released, I updated my ADO.Net Data Services series to the SP1 bits. In my post Visual Studio 2008 SP1: Querying an ADO.Net Data Service via .Net Client I showed how to use datasvcutil.exe to generate the client side classes in order to consume the data service.
In SP1 of Visual Studio 2008, things are a bit easier, with the Add Service Reference improvements that now supports ADO.Net Data Service references. read more...

More important, though, I’ll talk about how this small example fits into the whole IE8 / X-UA-Compatible thing, and why I think the way that turned out was bad for everyone." read more...

blogs.msdn.com — "I've adapted David Anson's XPS Viewer for Silverlight sample to allow you to read the first 3 chapters of my Silverlight 2 book using a SIlverlight/XPS experience. As part of this sample I added some code to support the mouse wheel. As you can see it makes for a very nice document viewing experience on the web. I'm thinking of enhancing this further by adding ink and collaboration." read more...
