New ASP.NET MVC Videos and Tutorials

15 new ASP.NET MVC videos were just published at the http://www.ASP.net/mvc website. The first 10 videos are basic tutorials on the ASP.NET MVC framework. If you haven't had a chance to play with ASP.NET MVC yet, these tutorials are a great introduction. The second set of 5 videos is part of an ongoing video series: ASP.NET MVC Pair Programming. In these videos, I pair with a prominent community expert to build an entire ASP.NET MVC application from start to finish (because of time constraints - a very, very simple application). The goal is to emphasize the process of building a web application instead of the product.

So, quite some things have changed in preview 3, which made me decide to change a lot in the jQuery for Asp.net mvc (jqmvc) too. To start with most radical one: I ditched the ajax.master. This little 'framework' does not rely on a special masterpage in your website from now on. Since things have radically changed, I'll start all over again on how to use this project.

I've taken some recommendations regarding the MVC UI Validation framework I originally posted about, which is available within the MvcContrib project. I'm still working on future advancements like attributing your model, but I did make a significant step forward ensuring both client and server side validation is successful. With some simple changes to how you are generating your validators, you can easily achieve this new functionality.

A foreach loop doesn't help you handle alternating items, for example. My response to this story is, "The foreach loop is not our repeater control. Our repeater control is an iterating extension method with lambdas!". Because who doesn't love lambdas?
