Windows Vista Controls for .NET version 1.3 released

The Windows Vista Controls for .NET 2.0 library is an open-source project which was started in January 2007 and has been released on CodePlex, undergoing several updates and changes. Its latest 1.3 release includes several native Vista common controls which can be included in any WinForms application and includes other features like DWM thumbnails, DWM glass and Task Dialogs.

Its not very straightforward and not everyone may be able to get it, but MS is going to give full Visual Studio 2008 Pro licenses to those who attend any of the events that it is organizing. Its that simple.

This includes the source to the server-side ASP.NET integration (including the UpdatePanel, UpdateProgress, and ScriptManager controls, as well as the source to the Network Serialization code). The client-side ASP.NET AJAX JavaScript library (which we also call the "Microsoft AJAX Library") is being released under the Microsoft Permissive License (Ms-PL). This grants developers the right to freely customize/modify the library, as well as to redistribute the derivative versions of the JavaScript library for both commercial and non-commercial purposes.
