I Spose I'll Just Say It: Still Waiting For a GOOD Reason to Learn MVC

Why you shouldn't learn MVC

Earlier today Rob Connery posted about why he thinks You Should Learn MVC. Rob is a great guy and we always have lively discussions whenever we meet at conferences. I was in the middle of writing a long comment on his blog when I decided it might be better as it's own post.

Polyglot Programming: Death by a thousand DSLs

In 2006, Neal Ford wrote a blog post on the topic of Polyglot Programming which foresaw a future where applications will be increasingly built using multiple general purpose languages and domain specific languages. This post discusses one of the pitfalls of the recent language and technology explosion

Looking for DotNetNuke Modules? (minor rant, hopefully an informative

I'm going to start this blog post off with a minor rant about purchasing DNN modules, and had intended to follow that up with a discussion on the evolution of the DotNetNuke ecosystem customer, but both topics have grown larger than initially planned so I will break them up into two separate posts. So here goes the ranting, followed by what I hope will be an informative blog post.

Dear Alt.Net Developers: Stop blaming Microsoft and WebForms for crea

I am responsible for every website I create. If I create a site or application that is unmaintainable or that has poorly formed HTML or doesn't render well in all browsers, that is my fault. I chose my development tools/framework, or my employer, who I choose to work for, chose the development tools/framework. Either way, it is my responsibility, as a professional, to do my utmost to create the best possible application that is within my capability to create.

DotNetKicks to be Open Sourced

As the community on DotNetKicks.com has grown in size over the past year, I have received received many offers of help with adding features and many requests for the source code. Due to other top secret commitments, I have recently not had as much time as I would have liked to continue the development of DotNetKicks.com. A discussion on DotNetKicks last week re-highlighted the issue of feature stagnation (the community is continuing to grow just fine).

We are in the business of solving problems, and the best solution here is to open source the project. I had planned to release some code this past weekend, but some of the current dependencies include code that I don't wish to release. I am currently refactoring the dependencies, and I will be able to release some code very soon.

Please shout it from the roof tops, we need all the contributers we can get.
