This Is What Happens When You Let Developers Create UI

Jeff Atwood, aka CodingHorror, discusses the general lack of user interface design skills among software developers.

Ruby on Rails for .NET developers

Ruby on Rails sounds cool, but you don't need a Mac to use it. Here's how to get started with Ruby on Rails in Windows, and play with the cool kids.

Use "Find As You Type" Search in Visual Studio 2005

"Visual Studio 2005 includes a great feature that they call Incremental Search, but I like to call "find as you type", because that's really what it does.

To start using this feature, just hit Ctrl + i once, and you will see the cursor change to an arrow with binoculars. At this point, you can just start typing, and Visual Studio will automatically start finding."

StatSVN

StatSVN retrieves information from a Subversion repository and generates various tables and charts describing the project development.

Really useful for people using SVN who want to see metrics of their code everyday.

Mono Migration Analyzer

"Now this is a stroke of genius. If you want people to consider making their .NET applications work on Mono, give them a tool that informs them ahead of time how much trouble (or how easy) it will be to migrate to Mono."
