"It would be nice if DotNetKicks had a way to dump rather than kick a post."

If this was Digg I would Digg you down into infinity.

This is probably well known, but always worth repeating. I know too many developers that have their screens tilted in odd ways...

"This is where I'd like to be able to kick-down a submission..."

Reclick the "kick it' link under the kicks icon. That's the best you can do. ;)

@ yesthatmcgurk: You love the sound of your own voice, don't you? ;)

I've used Firefox as my primary browser for years, both for surfing and for development. I only ever use IE for testing. I've just never understood how a skilled developer could stick with IE6 and not feel constrained by it's vast limitations.

Luckily IE7 has tabs and improved CSS rendering.

A brilliant move. Open source is a smart direction to move in.

"You can unkick a post by clicking 'kicked' below the kick count. Click it again to kick it. It is a switch."

Now if only Digg would implement a smart idea like that! Such a simple form of good usability - nice job.

These tutorials serve as a great reference tool. Too bad they're all in VB.NET, but that's just a minor gripe.

This looks promising.

Well, I for one am a fan of DotNetKicks and visit every day. Thanks for the website/resource!

If one or two ads is what it takes to generate a bit of revenue and add features to the site, why not? Just don't add them in an obtrusive way and I'm sure nobody will mind.

// disclaimer: I'm a Firefox/Adblock user, but allow ads for sites I support. ;-)

I would agree with yesthatmcgurk. The feature works as advertised and that's how I've used it.

These are very nice.

Happy Birthday! This is an excellent website. I come here to get my .NET fix daily.

Agreed, it's a terrible site. I won't put a dent in Digg at all.

The (invaluable) Web Developer extension in Firefox handles most (if not all) of the features mentioned in this article.
