It's all a matter of preference for the most part but readability is definitely at the top of priorities for everyone.
In C++ I always used simple breaks, tabbing was never my style, but I did work along side some big-time tab nuts. :-)

Microsoft made a great decision to make some changes to the current IE8 beta for standards compliance.
We already kicked some articles about that.
Please keep in mind IE8 is a DEVELOPER beta at this point.

Hey! I ran some large multi-node Mustang Wildcat! BBSes.
One of them was for Msft support.
Point being, I still feel like slapping anybody that was running Amiga back then, they created 40 character nightmares for us. ;-)
