How to insert text at a specified line number in a file using C#?

System.IO.StreamWriter allows you to write text to a file easily if you are creating the file and know the order of the lines. However, what if you are trying to edit a file? For example, you need to insert a text at a specified line number in an existing text file. Say you have a text file that contains:

1. Orange

2. Banana

<---- Want to Insert: 3. Apple

4. Grapefruit

5. Kiwi

And say you want to insert the text "3. Apple" between line 2 & 4, how do you do that in C#?

How long would it take to learn Object Oriented Programming?

Someone asked how long will it take them to learn C++, then how long will it take to learn OOP concepts, so I thought I share my answer here.

OOP is a different concept of programming where you look at pieces of code as objects that have properties & behavior, rather than lines of code that execute one after the other (like in structured programming). There are many concepts to Object Oriented programming, but you might want to just keep in mind that

FindWindow Alternative in C# .NET

Back in the good (or bad :) ) days of Win32 programming, there was a nice little function named FindWindow. It enabled you to find any window belonging to any process on your system

These days are gone with C# .NET, well... not quite!

Ever wanted to know when Google bot visits your site?

If you are monetizing your site with AdSense, one important piece of traffic you want to monitor, is when Google spider visits your site to crawl it. Or maybe you want to know if the Google robot ever comes to visit or not, and if it does, when, and how often does it crawl your site? Doing this in ASP.NET is very simple.
