Sorry for being ignorant but... can anyone explain to me what DSL stands for and why everybody is so excited about it?

DSL stands for Domain Specific Languages and is a part of the Visual Studio SDK. The DSL tools allows you to build your own designers for VS2005, like the Class Designer etc.
