Account Recovery with OpenID

Since OpenID is still relatively new, some of the best practices are still being worked out. We've come to accept the "forgot password" functionality common to most sites accepting usernames and passwords. But what happens when you can't log in to a site using your typical OpenID? I asked this question and, after a little brainstorming, came up with a solution.
